The Iqaluit Skating Club has a highly qualified team of very dedicated, professional coaches who work together to ensure that each skater achieves personal excellence. All of our coaches have been certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and abide by Skate Canada’s Coaches’ Code of Ethics.
The Iqaluit Skating Club coaching team asks that all skaters and parents adhere to the ISC Policies and the Skate Canada’s Parent Code of Conduct.

PROGRAM ASSISTANTS
Additionally to coaches, there are Program Assistants or PA's. Program Assistants are individuals who have been trained by the Iqaluit Skating Club to assist in the delivery of programs.
The role of the Program Assistant is to:
- Assist or lead warm–ups, group activities or cool–downs Assist with the set–up of circuits and stations
- Take attendance
- Demonstrate skills and teaching progressions
- Lead circuits and rotations
- Provide assistance to skaters who may have additional needs
- Distribute awards (stickers, badges, coloring sheets, etc)
- Provide encouragement and general feedback to skaters
- Provide general assistance to the coaches on the session
- Be a role model for young skaters
